Annual General Meeting

Since the Centre is a non-profit organization we are required to hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) as outlined by Section 60 of the Societies Act. There are many functions that the AGM serves.

First, it is an opportunity for Centre members to renew their memberships, and for new members to join. Anyone wishing to become a member of the Centre would fill out a membership application form and deliver it and their membership fee to the Centre's main office or at the AGM.

Secondly, another function of the AGM is to elect new Board Members. Prospective new Board Members are submitted to the Board by the Nominating Committee. The Board then votes on whether to accept the nominated members as new Board Members.

Thirdly, the AGM is where each committee presents its yearly report to the Board. This also includes presenting the upcoming year's Annual Plan and the Execuive Director's report.

The AGM is held each June. A specific date and location will be made public well in advance.
