Zone 7 Playoffs in Terrace: Under-15 Boys Division (Terrace vs Nechako Lakes)

The photos on these pages were taken during Sunday's Under-15 Boys final game between Terrace and Nechako Lakes. Terrace won by a score of 10-0.

A bonus link on this page is a video clip taken during game six on Saturday between Terrace and Prince George U-15 boys. The clip was saved to a floppy disk using a Mavika FD85 Digital Camera provided by Terrace Sight and Sound. You can click on the video camera icon to play the video, but you'll probably get better results with a right click on the video camera icon, select Save Target As in the pop-up menu, and then save the file to your Desktop so it's easy to find. The 1.24MB file will take about 5-6 minutes to download on a 33.6k connection, plays for 15 seconds, and is really worth a look.

A portion of the BC Youth Soccer Provincial Zone 7 Playoffs (Northern Interior - Williams Lake to the Charlottes) took place in Terrace on the June 9-10 weekend. Terrace hosted the Under-12 and Under-17 Girl's Divisions, and the Under-15 Boy's Division. Competition in other divisions took place in other Zone 7 communities on the same weekend.

There wasn't a Most Sportsmanlike Team award, but Kermode Net has selected the Nechako Lakes boys for that honour anyway. Photos 12 through 23 of this photo set highlight the talent and positive attitude of the Nechako Lakes goaltender—the busiest guy on the field all weekend—not to raise him above his teammates, but as an example of a spirit that was found in every member of the team. They won nothing, should have been battered, beaten and dispirited, but finished the weekend with laughter and a smile on every single face. They had fun, and their mood was contagious. Thanks guys.

Winners of these playoffs will compete in the Provincial 'B' Challenge Cup which takes place July 8-9, 2001. The girls will be in Victoria, and the boys will travel to Castlegar, Fruitvale and Trail in the Kootenays. Below are a few stats to provide an overview of U-15 Boys action in Terrace over the weekend.
