There are several lakes and rivers in the area for fishing, canoeing, boating, and water-skiing.

Stewart and Hyder host International Days from July 1st to July 4th. Both towns join in the planning and provide many fun filled activities throughout the celebrations. Some of the events that you can enjoy are: children's games, truck rodeo and logger sports, parades on both the 1st and 4th, a slo-pitch mixed tournament, pancake breakfasts and top it all off with fireworks in Hyder on the 4th of July.

The two towns also get together to host an International Rodeo on the second weekend in June. This event is also great for the whole family...come for a visit and experience true small town hospitality.
