TRANSPORTATION



HIGHWAYS:

    Stewart is serviced by a paved well maintained highway, Highway 37A, that is open year round. Seaport Limousine Bus Service travels to Terrace from Monday to Friday, and makes regular connections with the Greyhound Bus Service.

AIR:

    Stewart has a paved airstrip that is 3900 feet long. It is open year round, with limited winter maintenance.

    Vancouver Island Helicopters operates out of this airport.

    The Hyder mail is delivered twice a week by a float plane from Ketchikan, Alaska.

MARINE:

    The Alaska State Ferry makes regular sialing's from Ketchikan to Stewart in the summer months. Check with the Travel Infocenter for current sailing times.
