Small mountainside blaze doused before becoming a forest fire – 6/15/2002 10:42:49 PM

Terrace Fire and Rescue received a report of smoke on a bluff above the north end of Johns Road at about 7:30 p.m. tonight. Ministry of Forests officials were advised immediately and a helicopter was dispatched to assess the situation. It was decided to dump a few "buckets" of water on the fire and send in a crew in the morning to re-assess the site and mop up any lingering hot spots.
