16/37 helps the new entrepreneur who wants to start a business, or an existing entrepreneur who wants to maintain or expand an existing business. We assist you with business planning, financial planning and consultation services.

Business loans are available from 16/37 through a variety of programs.


Business Development Loans - Business loans through the regular 16/37 loan funds are available up to $125,000;

Youth Loans - for people between the ages of 18 to 29 years;

Self-Employment Benefits Program - for people on Employment Insurance or who have been on EI in the past 3 years;

Aboriginal Funding
Loan Guarantee program for lending to Gitksan Wet'suwet'en on reserve land;

Aboriginal Infrastructure Loan
Infrastructure Loans for business development on all reserve land;

Disabled Loans Program - for disabled entrepreneurs; and the employers to assist them with structural and equipment modifications required to hire a special needs employee;

Fisheries Programs - for business development within the fishing sector;

Forestry Loans Program - for forestry related business development;

Community Enterprise Investment Fund - provides CFDC's with the ability to lend up to a maximum of $500,000 to small businesses.
