16/37 offers a variety of Fisheries Programs to serve the needs of the fishing and fish-related communities and industries. In order to access these funds, your business must be directly connected to the fishing industry
  

Fishing Loan Fund

  • Loans are available to any business related to the fishing industry. Loans are available up to $125,000, repayable over a maximum of 5 years.

Coastwide Initiative

Project funding is available to coastal communities for economic development initiatives that, on a coastwide basis, enhance the economic viability of fisheries communities. Initiatives must be applicable to more than one community. For further information on this program, contact the General Manager for 16/37. 

Community Economic Adjustment Initiative

The objective of this program is to fund projects in communities (including Aboriginal) affected by changes in the salmon fishery. The program is to address local adjustment priorities, needs, opportunities and solutions which have demonstrable community support and which result in:
  

  • long-term local, regional, coastal and ocean-based strategic investments  
  • community transition from the salmon fishery to alternative and sustainable economic activities.
