Math-235 Mathematics for Technology I
(80hrs) 5 credits

Prerequisite: Math 101/102 Technical mathematics of Mathematics Placement Exam

An introductory course in Differencial Calculus. Topics include: functions, limits, average rates of change, delta process, derivative, higher derivatives, rules of differentiation of algebraic and transcendental functions including trigonometric, inverse trigonometric, logarithmic and exponential functions. Applications of calculus including Newton's method for finding roots of equations, related rates, maximum and minimum problems, curve sketching and kinematics.
